Summer Forest

July 25, 2026
Brooklyn, New York

A multi-sensory salon exploring the meeting point of painting, scent, and space.

ABOUT THE SALON
Summer Forest is a multi-sensory salon featuring the work of artist Minku Kim. The experience was directed and curated by NYN, with botanical scent creation by RASAYAN.

Developed over several months through studio visits, conversations, and shared experimentation, the project brings together art, botanical scent, tea curated by Grace Farms, and edible scent experiences into a single sensory journey.

Visitors are invited to freely explore the scents by RASAYAN throughout the studio at their own pace, allowing each sensory encounter to unfold naturally

THE SCENT
Summer Forest
Ritual Spray

Created as an extension of the Summer Forest salon, this ritual spray allows the experience to continue beyond the studio. It captures the feeling of stepping from the city into a quiet forest.

Fresh greenery, filtered light, soft woods, and cool air come together in a scent that feels both vibrant and calming.

Rather than representing a specific place, it invites each visitor to discover their own landscape through memory and imagination.

THE COLLABORATION
Botanica  Perfume

Botanica was born through a scent collaboration with artist Minku Kim.

Watching Minku shape the scent felt much like watching him paint, with patience, precision, and deep attention to every detail. As each botanical note came together, the fragrance gradually revealed its own character.

The fragrance was later refined by RASAYAN for the Summer Forest salon, becoming Botanica, a neroli-centered fragrance that feels like small white flowers quietly blooming within the world of Summer Forest.

BLIND SCENT SESSION
Minku experienced three scents without knowing what they were.

He simply described the memories, emotions, and images that came to mind. There were no hints and no right answers, only his own perception.

Those words later became the starting point for six paintings.

Visitors were invited to experience the same scents and answer the same question before turning over the card to discover Minku’s own responses.

The same scent can awakened different memories emotions, and images in each person. There is no correct answer, only your own experience.

FROM SCENT TO PAINT
Inspired by three blind scent explorations, Minku Kim translated scent into six paintings through color, form, and gesture.

TASTE SCENT
Grace Farms, Manjurang

Grace Farms curated a selection of teas, including Hibiscus Orange and Rooibos Chai, inviting guests to slow down and linger with the experience.

Alongside them, a handmade neroli jelly echoed the floral heart of Botanica, while a candy captured the atmosphere of Summer Forest.
